Horsetail Shines

Sock Monkey Reflection

Shaver Lake Blue
Shaver Lake CA
On a Super Moon night reflecting in the water with the silhouette of the little pine trees at Shaver Lake was very special! The “bark-beetled” trees in the background are nice for color, but years later made unimaginable kindling for the Creek Fire. The little trees in the Rock stood as strong as they could….

*Dinkey Creek Bridge
Sierra Nat’l Forest CA
The single span, wooden truss Dinkey Creek Bridge was named not for its builder but for the creek which is named for the DOG, Dinkey who valiantly fought off a bear, giving his owners time to save themselves.
The Dinkey Creek Bridge held men and animals alike from 1938 to 2023 when the weight of “Snow-mageden” brought it down. Now, bureaucracy and building costs make it impossible to rebuild.

Pigeon Point Dark
Pescadero CA
Once a year, for many years the photographers would come from all around for the lighting of this First-Order Antique Fresnel Lens in the Pigeon Point Lighthouse. I heard about it and went to see it myself, only to find out how amazing it and Long-Exposure Photography is! Im so glad I went; since then the lighthouse has not been lit and later, they took the lens out, adding it to the museum nearby.
