Every year, on the 2nd Saturday of November they light the gas in the antique Fresnel Lens" the docent said.
“Let’s get a photo of that,” I said.
So we came back that year, 2010, and boy am I glad we did.
Not knowing what I was doing, I took my new camera back to the camera store and asked the guys, “What settings should I use?” Literally following my notes I had No Idea that THIS,
“Pigeon Point Sunset"
just before they lit the lighthouse, would be the Last Time it would be lit,
and the First of my nighttime photography fascination.
They have since taken the antique lens out and put it in down in the museum in town.
